The NORCAL playoffs were held this weekend in San Jose.
The Blackhawks 12BB team, which went 10-3-3 in the regular season, joined Vacaville, San Mateo, and Tri Valley in the NORCAL playoffs. The team went 1-2 in round robin, which got them to the semi-final game against Tri Valley. The Hawks scored first, outshot the Blue Devils 38-24, and saw 5 different goal scorers in their 7-3 win. In the championship game, the Hawks answered the Black Star's first goal, but fell with a final score of 1-5. As the two best teams in NORCAL, the Hawks and Black Stars will represent the area in the CAHA (state) playoffs, to be held in Vacaville on March 24-26.
The Blackhawks 12B team, which went 6-9-1 in the regular season, qualified to join San Francisco, Reno, and San Mateo in the NORCAL playoffs. The team went 1-2 in round-robin play and advanced to the semi-final game against Reno. The Hawks scored first, but fell 1-3. Since Reno is not eligible for CAHA (state) playoffs, the Hawks and San Francisco will represent the area in the CAHA playoffs, to be held in Vacaville on March 24-26.
