The top eight 18AA teams from the regular season - including the Blackhawks - went to playdowns in Simi Valley (February 22-24).

The Hawks played GSE1, OCHC, and the Jr. Condors.

In the first game, GSE1 took a 2-0 lead, but the Hawks fought back to tied the game up 3-3 at the end of regulation.  GSE1 scored in overtime on a end-board bounce with a minute to go.

The Hawks then played OCHC in a penalty-filled game that the Hawks won 5-0, including 3 power play goals.

Game three was an elimination game with the Jr Condors.   The Hawks took an early 1-0 lead in the first, and gave up a goal late in the second to close that period at 2-1.   The Jr Condors were able to tie the game with just over 2 minutes to play, forcing overtime.  Neither team was able to score in the 5-minute OT, which brought out the shootout.  Tied through 4 rounds, the Hawks were able to score in the 5th round.  The goalie denied the Condor's last shot, giving the Hawks the win.

The team will travel to the state playoffs in Escondido (March 15-17) and complete against the Jr. Ducks, Wave, and GSE1.
