2020/21 TIER II (AA) AND TRAVEL (A/BB/B) TRYOUT UPDATE
We would like to note that this season will definitely be different than seasons in the past due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Blackhawks, along with other NORCAL hockey clubs, will not have on-ice tryouts this year. Tryouts have already been pushed out by CAHA and NORCAL multiple times, and each rink/county has different restrictions, thus moving us in this direction.
In-person tryouts will not be possible this year.
Tier II (AA) - Teams were selected on 12/4/2020.
Travel A/BB/B - On 12/11/2020, our coaches will select players for their teams. This process is what NORCAL and CAHA refer to as digital signing. To be considered for digital signing, you must be registered for the tryout (here). NORCAL will provide the digital signing process for all clubs to follow. Coaches will then build their teams based on their knowledge of players from experience in clinics, coaching players via past seasons, and gathering information from other coaches within the league if coming from a team other than the Blackhawks.
In the spirit of being fluid and transparent, we are working with NORCAL and CAHA to gather more details as the tryout dates soon approach. The Blackhawks will share more information as we receive it.
TRAVEL A/BB/B SIGNINGS = FRIDAY, 12/11
Players that don't make the AA team will be automatically considered for A/BB/B - only one application is needed.
The Blackhawks board and coaches hope to announce the AA roster by end-of-day Saturday 12/5, and A/BB/B rosters by end-of-day Saturday 12/12. Information will be sent via email.
