About the Santa Clara Blackhawks

Founded in 1969, the Santa Clara Blackhawks have been a leader in Bay Area hockey for nearly 50 years. We are proud of our ability to continually provide high caliber, competitive teams at the Tier II (AA) and A/B levels. With an emphasis on player development and advancement, the Santa Clara Blackhawks continue to provide athletes with opportunities for success both on and off the ice.

Throughout the club’s history, our teams have won national, state, regional and tournament championships at all levels. In 2006, the Santa Clara Blackhawks Peewee AA team became the first Northern California team to win the USA Hockey National Championships.  Please see our virtual trophy case.

The Santa Clara Blackhawks have seen our share of outstanding players through the years.  Many of our players have moved on to play at the junior, collegiate and NHL levels.  Please see our alumni page.

Providing players from Mites to Midgets with advanced skill and skating development combined with expectations of sportsmanship and respect remains a focus of the Santa Clara Blackhawks. Our high caliber coaches ensure that players receive optimal training both on and off the ice throughout the hockey season.

While we are dignified by what the club has achieved on the ice, we are also proud of the accomplishments of the people off the ice.  As an non-profit organization that relies heavily on volunteerism from our coaches and administrators, we are extremely proud of our heritage and hope to continue to provide Bay Area youths with an opportunity to develop as hockey players and as successful citizens.
